Grants Awarded!
Two grants awarded to improve green spaces in Llanbedr.
We are delighted to say that the Llanbedr Community Council has been successful in its application for the Denbighshire County Council‘ Commuted Sums’ grant. This means that, along with the money granted to the village hall, all of the available money was awarded to the village. The two projects The Community Council now have funding for are:
Old St Peter’s church
This is already a much loved and special place. The grant will cover repairs to the box tombs, which are deteriorating dangerously, path improvements, new signage and more. The will help to improve access and enjoyment to the old church, along with other works already completed – such as the planting of wildflowers.
In addition, the Church In Wales – which owns the site – has already agreed to go ahead with repairs to the building itself, including removing ivy and other plants, and repointing the stonework.
The Peace Tree
The Peace Tree is in many ways a focal point in the village. The funding will pay for essential pruning of the tree itself, improvements to the bench and railings, new signage, a new path and more.
We’re delighted to have been awarded these funds to help improve the green spaces in our community.
